Private lessons are built around you. Before you hit the water your instructor will chat through your experience, any goals you have, and what you want to get out of the session. From there, everything is tailored.

Available at Orewa Beach and Te Arai Beach.
Availability is shown at checkout – book early as sessions fill quickly, especially through summer.
All surf equipment is provided, surfboard, wetsuit and rash vest.
If you or your surfers have your own gear, you’re welcome to bring it along.

We have real experience coaching kids from age 4, nervous first-timers, families, and surfers returning after time out of the water.
If you have any specific needs or questions before booking, get in touch and we’ll make sure the session works for you.
Absolutely. Most of our private lesson bookings are first timers or beginners. Your instructor will start from scratch and have you riding waves within the session.
Yes – we coach kids from age 4 and run great family sessions. Private lessons are a fantastic option for younger kids who benefit from more focused attention.
Both are great for beginners. Te Arai tends to have a more consistent and slightly larger wave, which can suit adult learners well. Orewa is a longer, more sheltered beach that works well for families and younger kids. If you’re unsure, get in touch and we’ll point you in the right direction.
Yes. We’ll check your gear suits the conditions on the day, and if it doesn’t, we have everything you need.
Private lessons work for 1 person right up to small groups. Pricing is $199 for 1-2 people, $299 for 3 surfers, and $59 for each additional person. For larger groups of 8 or more, contact us to discuss a group booking.
All of our instructors are ISA certified, first aid trained and surf rescue awarded. They’re experienced surfers and all instructors have a minimum 3-10 year + instructing, and they genuinely love what they do.
